LG V30 to launch with Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC and more audio customisations

The LG V30 will feature even better audio than the company's V20 and G6 Quad DAC smartphones. In a statement released today, LG says the next V series device will feature a 32-bit Advanced HI-Fi Quad DAC with more customisation features than previously seen on its devices.

The new Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC will be powered by ESS Technology's SABRE ES9218P and offer digital filters and sound presets. The press release notes that the handset includes four optimal pre-programmed settings: enhanced, detailed, live and bass. LG claims "Even with ordinary equipment, LG V30 users can experience much of the high-quality audio enjoyed by listeners using expensive headsets."
LG has already managed to topple other smartphone makers when it comes to wired mobile audio and with the V30, the company says it has managed to cut the distortion rate down to 0.0002 percent. Other enhancements expected with V30 includes technology supporting high-resolution audio streaming without consuming large amounts of mobile data. Furthermore, LG V30's HD audio recorder can work both as a receiver as well as a microphone, also referred to as Receiver-as-a-Mic.
"With the V30, LG and our partners are pushing the boundaries of smartphone audio to enable a more bespoke listening experiences," said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. LG is also continuing its partnership with B&O Play for offering refined audio capabilities on the V30 with Bang & Olufsen's engineers fine-tuning the overall sound experience. The smartphone will come bundled with B&O Play headphones.

LG has confirmed that the V30 will sport a 6-inch Full Vision display with a Quad HD resolution along with 4GB RAM and option for either 64GB or 128GB storage. The device will also get a new 13MP dual camera setup with f/1.6 aperture, widest aperture yet on a smartphone camera. The company is also ditching the secondary display in favour of a software-based floating bar.

LG has been playing second fiddle to Samsung in the smartphone market but with V30, it might finally have a standout handset. The V30 will become official at company's pre-IFA event in Berlin on August 31.
